Part of me was questioning whether or not Anna was behind all this, or if there was something else at play here. Whilst her marriage does appear strong and loving, she's never really forgiven herself, or her husband Simon about how their relationship began. It was truly excellent to see just how well Emily’s character worked and I was really excited to see how things changed for her throughout the book.

I enjoyed reading about the family dynamics and the character’s backstories which explained how they reached this point in the story. Brought in an airport on New Year’s Day, I’d didn’t need a gruesome difficult thriller, and I certainly wasn’t given one! While there’s nothing to really make this books stand out from the crowd, it’s a good example of its type. I personally felt quite a lot of sympathy for Emily as a character considering the difficulties she faces as a young mum and overworked teacher coupled with the relationship with her husband, who I felt was quite unlikeable. Lisa Hall, author of The Woman in the Woods'Wonderfully tense from the very first page, I ripped through this in a few nights. Each page helps us get to know this character so well, and even a couple of chapters in, I couldn’t stop reading! This was riveting, also the stalker element was very uncomfortable but I recommend the audio as it for me adds to the story. Stalker is a psychopath) it’s such an overdone trait that there wasn’t a single twist that caught me out! It was a thrilling read and definitely makes you turn page after page, revealing even more twists and secrets. Not the kind of person she would normally be drawn to, there’s something about Anna that suggests they could be friends.

This is perfect if you’re looking for a light thriller that won’t tax your mind or your time too much. There was something so out of place, something that, if not dealt with, could well and truly destroy Emily’s life. There was so much to explore in this book, the chapter endings always forcing me to read another chapter, and then another.Everyone else is looking at me, the nutcase, the paranoid wife, getting it wrong again, seeing danger and malevolence where there is only kindness and support. When Anna comes into her life she appears to be just what Emily needs - a friend and someone to support her with childcare. I knew things would escalate and even though I wanted to protect Emily and her family at all costs, I also secretly couldn’t wait for what came next in their friendship.

If you haven’t read her work before, I recommend not starting here but with The Flight and then check out the earlier books. Emily doesn't have the greatest relationship with her own mother, and determined that her daughter Bonnie will not feel the same way about her.

I love being totally absorbed in a book, and so far, this story wasn’t letting me down in the slightest!

You can also check out my news and forthcoming events (nothing much on the cards until later this year, when All You Ever Wanted will be published).Emily is also concerned that Simon might be having an affair so Simon thinks Emily is just being paranoid. Before turning to fiction, she worked in journalism, writing hundreds of features for women’s magazines, and 10 non-fiction books on health-related topics. All You Ever Wanted is a dark domestic drama that ticks every single box, with an ending that’ll have you thinking for months. Both Emily and Anna are complicated women who elicit feelings of sympathy, frustration and anger from the reader.
